Introduction

Imagine using a spreadsheet program to write letters? You could do it, but it would be a clumsy approach, not fit for purpose. The same could be said of our methods of listening, problem-solving and learning. Some approaches work well in some contexts and cause unnecessary stress and confusion in others. For instance, we’ve found that comparing new ideas to what you already know can be a significant problem sometimes, effectively preventing us from hearing any grains of truth in the new. In this module, we present a few ideas that may challenge conventional wisdom but also suggest a much more sustainable, resilient way forward.

You will learn when, why and how to “switch” your current approach to a more suitable, less stressful and ultimately more resilience nurturing approach. The good news is no matter how hard wired you may be to your preferred approach once we provide you with the criteria, you’ll find it easy to choose the most appropriate methodology.

As mentioned earlier all our programs listed here have been drawn from our signature offering, our Cultivating Curiosity Program (coming soon). The reason for this is we believe curious people - open-minded, optimistic, inquisitive and adaptable – are great learners and, by their very nature, more resilient. After all, what is curiosity if not an act of hope and possibility?

Before we get started, one final question. What are you hoping to change by developing your resilience? What specific goals would you like to set?
